$98 for Radio Code ?????
My battery died , got it recharged, and now Paragon Acura in New York, LIC (I made a bad mistake buying a 2001 cls from them) wants to charge me $98 to take out the radio and READ the code/serial # from the back of it. That's what the service dept. tells me.
Is there any other way I can get the radio code? Anybody knows ?
This is the same dealer who had to replace my stolen HID lights 2 years and some months back. Took them 4 weeks to do the job. They called to say the car was ready so I went in and had to wait 3 1/2 hours before they brought my car up.
I've been going to PAA ever since, even though I live in the Bronx.

did you buy your car new from the dealer? cause when they delivered you your car they should have given you that card with the radio code. Also open your glove box and see if there is a sticker with numbers on the inside of the box door.
do not pay 98 bucks, tell them to shove it.
Also, if you bought it new, the dealer you bought it from should have the code on file with the PDI. Or track it back to original dealer the did the PDI and they should have it.

Sarlacc23 - I bought that car new from Paragon. 2 days later I took it to them for the headlight job. They should have all my records. No excuse for that.

Our car was bought used, but the Acura dealer said that all we have to give them is the serial number and they'll give us the code so we can punch it in ourselves, cause if they do it, they would have to charge us per hour!...which is like $65/hr, not no $98!
So we just pulled out the radio, got the serial #, and that's it! Not sure if it's that easy for other models though!
Good luck!

I delivered a used crv to a guy once and i fucking tracked the original dealer acorss 3 states and get the serial from the pdi inspection paperwork, after that all a service tech does is look it up on a computer.
They want to charge you 98 bucks for 30 minutes worth of labor to pull teh radio and get the serial off the back.

thats why they're called the stealership.
hell, throttle body extension cable (6pin male/female connector) is $65 for my mb. That's a plastic adapter on both sides and 6 18gauge wires.

OK...if u bought it new it's their responsibility to have the code on file in a computer. Also every new acura has the small card w/ the owners manual in the book and a sticker on the inside of the glove box. It's a small white sticker w/ a five digit number...thats ur radio code. If u still have trouble...get the serial of the radio and pm me w/ it and I'll get the code for u at work.
Another thing...WHY IN THE HELL DID U GO TO PARAGON ACURA????????????????????They are one of the worst Acura dealers in the US. Out of like 650 dealers...they are like number 640 in customer service....no lie!!!!!They are soo fucked up that their warranty claims for the past 3 years are being audited as we speak. My service manager was telling me this today and so far they owe like $25,000 in false warranty claims!!!!. PM me for any help...don't pay them!!

standard prodcedure is to put the sticker in the glove box as i and ant said.
But many dealers arent doing this anymore because theives are cluing in where to find things.
The trunk is another location, rare, but sometimes.
When i delievered new cars i gave them the card with the code, the spare sticker, and the keycode and told them to put it somewhere safe.

Yep...and if PAA has done a trans then they should have the code on file. You have to remove the battery to replace the trans. Well actually you don't but it makes it soooo much easier. Myself and all my other techs remove it so they should have also. Check eveywhere for the small sticker and the card. If u bought it new then it should be w/ you.

Ant .. way back in 2001, March I was torn between a BMW 330ci or whatever and the cls. Paragon was listed as an 'authorized dealer' by my credit union thru whom I got a car loan. That's all.
But I found out very very early how much they suck.

Well I have a little sticker here which gives me a 6 digit serial number.
Please give me the url and I'll try and see if it's right.
I've searched the glove compartment and trunk 'religiously'.
Those paragon guys didn't put any sticker there.

there is no url.
the service is hooked up to a network, they have to plug in the numbers. And where are you getting the 6 numbers from? that might not be it.

There's this one inch by 3 inch trailer that Paragon gave me. It lists year(01), make(Acura), model(CL), color(silver),
SERIAL(032993), code(P6), options(2-20).
SERIAL(032993), code(P6), options(2-20).

I thought if the code was listed on the passenger side where the wood panel is by the radio? I remember just taking out some of the wood panel and the sticker with the code is around the front cosole near the radio.

Got very lucky on this one. Like I said PAA did a tranny job for me in 2002 and were very professional enough to note it in my records. Called them up today and I'm one happy customer of theirs.

YOU CAN GET THE CODE FROM THE FACE OF THE RADIO!
Turn the car on to the ACC position.
Make sure CODE is flashing on the radio.
Turn off the radio.
Hold down the 1 & 6 buttons on the face of the radio.
Turn on the radio.
The serial number will appear in two parts... the first 4 numbers followed by the 2nd 4.
Hope this helps.
