Win what? Since you posted in the dyno section I guess you mean who will put down more powe? I'd have to guess the TL.
Id guess the same results in a race too. But it is just my guess.

08 has 285 hp at the crank new SAE standard
03 has 260 hp at the crank pre SAE new standard. (which is more like 243 new SAE standard)
08 will win in both dyno and 1/4 mile..... depending on driver of course.

Ummm with those mod's I would think it would be pretty close probably down to the details like driver, tires miles on the engine ect ect

Bald tires wont really make a difference when you are already rolling on the highway. FYI, there is a 113lb difference, with the advantage going to the CL (3446 vs 3559).

Actually, according to cars.com, the 08 TL-S weighs 3,674 lbs. Link

Look at the mod list. There isnt 40hp seperating them anymore, but the added torque of the 3.5 will still pull on the CL. If the TL had precat deletes then it would pull much more. Ive seen TL-S6s putting down around 285whp.

Ok? Auto TL puts down about the same as the CL-S6. Toss in long gears ratios for the TL and the added bulk (its pushing 3600lbs) and thats why the CL beats it. If you compare apples to apples (6MT vs 6MT), the TL-S will win.
Also keep in mind that the 270hp rating on the 04s were before the revised SAE numbers, while the TL-S was after it. So the difference between the 04 TL and the 07-08 TL-S is more like 28hp at the crank.

I'm skeptical about the SAE ratings, although this is what they keep saying, I have a hard time believing it because for one, they act as if this is the "fix" for hp ratings but are not totally sure of it, and two, everything I have been reading up on about it has yet to have a source. Maybe I'm just being biased about my hp, but I know for a fact my CLS has taken down many cars at the track that have had over 280 crank hp on the new SAE ratings. I have even taken some cars that their owners apparently have said had 300whp. I'm not trying to sound like a retard but I just have a hard time believing that my CLS could take cars like those if it really only had around 240hp. It just doesn't add up if you think about.

It ads up fine honestly. Peak horsepower doesnt mean much. It comes down to gearing and usable power.
The CL and TL 6MTs have the same exact gearing. The TL-S has a broader torque curve.

As much as I wanted the CL-S to win, having bald tires is totally irrelevant when it comes to a rolling start. Maybe upgrade your intake and headers to Comptech since they claim the highest gains. Other than that, your gonna have to start spending alot more money to start digging into more serious mods such as an engine build, supercharger, turbo, or nitrous.

A lip wont make you go faster.
Not exactly, the collector on the CT header is 2" while the XS is 2.5". The rest is the same though.
Those posts are referring to cars with a stock cat, stock b-pipe and stock mufflers. As I said above, the XS headers are 2.5" at the collector. When you upgrade the cat, b pipe and mufflers the 2.5" collector proves to be beneficial.
