Does anyone change shock to stiffen the suspension without changing the spring?

I feel that my car height is ok but just a bit soft. Trying to reduce the nose dive.

There was one member who was running Koni yellows on stock struts and was very happy with the improvement. And the Koni really is designed for a linear spring, which the stock spring is.

If you used the Neuspeed version of the Koni, you could go down a 1/4"; I wouldn't go 1/2" on stock springs though......

That's not the seat, that's the plastic panel under the rear window-when the seat is folded up that hole is covered.....

Why is the top of the back wheel look pushed in? is that an illusion or do people do that on purpose?

If you install a lowering kit, for every 1” you drop the height, the rear suspension will develop what is called camber, in the case of “dropping” the height the camber is “Negative”. The result of negative camber is largely that you will seriously accelerate uneven wear on your rear tires. Fortunately this can be easily and cheaply corrected by purchasing a camber kit.

Camber kits typically sell in $ 140-180 range ($70 a side x 2) and take roughly half and hour to install (per side) if you know what you are doing and are properly equipped. i.e. this is what a garage should charge. Once the kit is installed it is critical to have an alignment done, as the suspension geometry will be way out.

After you have your camber kit installed you can really enjoy the vastly improved handling of your TSX without burning a wear strip off on your rear tires. Let’s face it, they are not cheap!

I am new to the forum and after reading many posts about the Tein Basic setup I think I will be making a purchase soon. Before I do I would like to take a ride first, anybody in the Phoenix,Az area have these and would not mind giving a test ride?

Yes, but if you want to eliminate the wheel gaps, you would need to drop it a little more than 2".

Wrong. Negative camber does not affect premature tire wear. The toe is what causes major uneven tire wear. Zero out your toe and you will not have any problems with bad tire wear.

Its a combination of the two that causes uneven tire wear.

I actually just installed s techs yesterday on stock struts. I bought them from a member on here for $118.00 shipped to my house. The ride is comfortable. Not bouncy but not bone jarring. Car's more responsive. Def. a nice clean drop. Not so low as to your tucking the wheels or scraping but low enough that it looks good.

I've seen the springs go anywhere from $140 to almost $200 but i'm sure you can find a good deal like i did.

I have a new 2008 PWP TSX so these same exact springs are going into that car as well.

Don't know if someone answered your question yet but no, you do not need to remove anything in your trunk. The top of the rear suspension can be found by removing the side pieces to your rear seats. 1 bolt removes each side of the seat pieces.

I've had them on pretty much for the length of my lease so I would say about 2 1/2 year-3 years. Somewhere along that time frame. I just recently installed the stock springs back on so I could turn the car back in and the shocks still felt like they were working after installing the stock springs back on.

Thanks, i forgot that I even posted on this thread. Got the coilovers in for about 2 weeks now, I love em, I think I just found the sweet spot on the dampner settings too. There's some pix and a short feedback found in my thread

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...8&page=1&pp=25

and for those who are lazy to click; cliffs:

Buddy Club racing spec coilovers
~2.5-3" drop
dampner settings (from soft to stiff)
front - 6/15
rear 7/15
Absolutely love the drop, the car's itching for a lip kit now and some wheels, though. The ride is smoother, but i bumps are more profound.

That is a very nice drop. Ah, the joys of coilovers. I myself have had coilovers in the past, but I just find that I end up being too lazy to ever adjust them again after I install them and lower them to the height I want. haha.

I know the drop on my old black car might be a little hard to see because of the black so I will repost pics again of my new PWP TSX after I get those springs re-installed. I'll do a before lip kit and after lip kit pictures so you can also see the difference.
