2004 TSX 18x8 wheels...what offset and tire size?
i'm looking to get a set of wheels and tires for the TSX. it'll be dropped on eibach prokit springs, and i'd like to know what offset i should get and what tire size?
does anyone know what offset the 18x8 TSX aspec wheels are, and the tires?

are the tsx a-spec wheels 18x8 or 18x7.5? if they are 18x8 and i have an apec suspension, will putting 235/40-18 tires cause rubbing with full turn of the steering wheel?
i think acura reco's only 225 tires on the 18 inch aspec, not 235's, is that correct?

just confirmed ODUB - 18" TSX wheels are 18x7.5......TL a-spec wheels are 18x8....so that means that you shouldn't (but you can) go over 225 in tire width with the tsx aspec 18 inch wheel. offset is 55. acura reco's 225/40-18

I would get 235/40-18 rather than 225/40-18's with an 8 in. wide wheel....the only reason I got 225/40-18's for my 18 inch a-spec wheels is b/c the width of the wheel is 7.5 inches....all tire sites and every dealer told me that it would void the warranty on the tires if i put a 235 size tire on a 7.5 inch wheel...I guess the rule of thumb is that at a minimum, one needs a 8 inch wide wheel for a 235 size tire....which in your case, you have an 8 in wide wheel, so I'd go with a 235/40-18 size tire if i were you....

the lower the offset, the more your wheel will stick out away from the car....so, in theory, if you buy a wheel with less than +55 offset (which is the offset of the OEM wheels), your new wheel will stick out further and thus allow you to go with a wider tire.....i would google "miata tire size calculator"...it's a handy tool to visualize the differences you will experience in going to a different tire size.
my current predicament is somewhat the same as yours...i just bought 18 inch tsx a-spec wheels...they are oem +55 offset and they are only 7.5 inches wide. If i go by the book, i should only be putting on 225/40-18's on them as that is the recommended size of tire by acura...however, this size will increase wheel gap, thus taking away slightly from the "lowered" look which i currently have with my oem wheels and my a-spec suspension. I am trying to see from others what detrimental effect, if any, going to a 235/40-18 tire will have, as this size tire with the 18x7.5 a-spec wheel would maintain the overall wheel diameter that i currently have, thereby preventing the added wheel gap that I will get from buying a 225/40-18 tire.... still haven't gotten a good response from anyone as to any negatives with a 235 tire...so, I'm leaning in that direction...however, in your case, b/c the offset is lower for your new wheels, this should give you plenty of room. the only thing I would consider is your wheel width...if it's 8 inches or higher, i would go with a 235 tire...but check out the miata tire size calculator to confirm...

It represents the best 'visual' idea of what to expect.

Anything bigger than a +/-2% difference is considered a mismatch and should be avoided if possible. Speedometer, odometer, and VSA/ABS systems can be affected by mismatched tire sizes.

I got the TL chrome look(reminds me of black chrome) A specs, 18x8 +45 from Findlay Acura on ebay for $990 shipped. They actually took $75 off the asking price when i made a lower offer.

I'm lowered on Aspec an inch or so. And you will feel the car handles much better. Search: there are many suspension set-ups people are happy with–and would recommend. Consider your budget, too.

I am planning to buy a set of 18x8 +40 wheels. The Tire Rack recommends 215/45-18 size tires for these wheels, but that is the same section width as stock with a 1" wider wheel. This doesn't make sense to me. Am I going to have issues stepping up to a 235/40-18 size tire. The overall diameters are nearly identical (-0.5%) but I am more worried about the sidewall bubbling because the tire is too wide. Are there going to be fitment issues with such a low offset and wider tires. And are there any spacers/adapters that can be used to adjust for a lower offset wheel and move the wheel inwards?
Thanks.
Thanks.

if i were you, i'd go 235/40/18. 225/40/18 is also an option if you're having doubts. your rim size and offset aren't really that aggressive so you shouldn't be so worried. 235/40/18 is one of the closest sizes to oem. spacers only push the rim outwards. i don't think a inward pushing spacer exists.
