Door Lock Problem (Sticking)

Door Lock Problem (Sticking)
So out of nowhere, my 2004 5AT W/O NAVI's door lock developed a sticking problem.
1) Using the remote, the DRIVER door will stick (not lock or unlock)
2) Using the key = no problems
3) Problem exists also when using the unlock/lock button on the door
Will be bringing back to dealer tomorrow...hopefully easy fix.

It's not remote cause it has the same problem when I use the door button. I took it in already and it needs a new door actuator (or watever that thing is that controls the locks). Using the key is mechanical which is why it's not effected. Should be fixed Monday

Whoa, this is the same problem I've recently started to experience. Glad to know I'm not alone.
I found that if I lock/unlock the door with the remote or power lock switch a few times, it "unsticks" itself. But if I let it sit for a couple of minutes, it starts again. Did you notice this on yours as well?

Just got the power lock "sticking" this morning as well. The only way I can lock and unlock my door is with the key or by pulling up the manual switch.
The dealer has to replace the actuator?

I got it fixed under warranty. I'm out of warranty now though

The thing I absolutely HATE about bringing my car to the dealer is the attention it draws. As soon as I pull up, the service advisor usually says, "Whoa -- SIX SPEED?? I don't see any of those around here!" It gets worse when my car pulls up in the service bay and the mechanics finds out it's modded.
Later on, I check up on my car and they'll say, "Oh -- they took it out for a road test to make sure everything is OK."
Yeah right. All I wanted was an oil change. And why did they need TWO people for the "test?"..
Tsx536 probably is a bigger target at the stealer due to his s/c setup.

Although my dealer did just cover something for me under warranty the other day eventhough I was at 57K miles.

Then I walk by the service bay and do the whole Robert De Niro, "Hey, I'm watching you Focker" eye/hand motion from Meet the Parents to the Techs.

Burning Brakes
I took my car to the stealer and they have to order a replacement actuator on my front passenger door. It just had died last night. Good thing am under warranty so I will pay nothing out of pocket.

Just got mine replaced yesterday. I guess some dealers keep the actuator in stock. I dropped my car off in the morning with Thomas Acura in Covina and was able to pick it up during lunch.
The first thing I noticed was the lock was making a much quieter 'click' rather then the 'clunk' it previously had since the car was brand new.
Anyone know if the actuator has been changed to a different design and part number?
<--- Looking it up

Looks like the part numbers for the actuator assembly on both the 05 and 06 models are identical. The TL shares the same actuator design as well as does the Accords.
Whoever is the supplier on this designed dropped the ball. This is the first Honda 'failure' I've had under warranty. At least it was minor issue...

Wow this thread is amazing. As of a few days ago my driver's side door will not unlock with the remote. I'm still under warranty so I'm planning on bringing it into the dealer. I try to avoid the dealer as if they had the plague. Oh well.

It didn't actually surprise me, since I don't have much confidence in some of their reps. In any case, they put the part on that same day and the lock works like a champ. Managed to test drive the RDX and new MDX while I was waiting.

Add me too....but with a new twist. At the same time the driver door lock started sticking, the center display for the radio and climate control died. The radio still works, just can't see anything in the display. I checked fuses and even replaced battery when Mr. Auto Zone said it tested low...and no help. Strange coincidence...both problems at the same time?? Anyone else have this? I was glad to hear I wasn't alone with the door lock problem.

My drivers side has been acting up for about a week now. The dealer is an hour away so I'll probably have to deal with it until I can get time to take it in. If the actuator is the problem I'll probably pay for the part and just handle the labor on my own. This is a great thread!

My driver side lock started to stick today as well. If anything does happen to change the actuator themselves, can they post up a DIY of the process? (In case my warrenty is up already, I have an 04')

The Driver side auto door lock on my 04 TSX w/Navi stopped working at 24,303 miles. The dealer replaced the actuator when I came in for an oil change -- all in the same visit. Thankfuly they had the part in stock.
