Rear Sway Bar arrived yesterday!

So I was having a bad day on Tuesday and had a friend order a rear sway bar for me Tuesday evening. Shockingly, if arrived yesterday and I braved horrible traffic to go and pick it up (someone dropped a mattress and box spring on the San Mateo bridge during the evening rush hour). I'm going to go install it today and I'm happy to say that I have a sway that matches my springs! 20mm Sustec FTW!

Pics to follow!

~Cheers~

I'm posting from the ER right now; two friends of mine spun out on a mountain right behind me and one of them (the passenger) was pinned in the car with the roof of the car holding his arm against the door sill and a tree. The car had flipped over and as soon as I saw him lose traction in my rearview, I was on the brakes, and running out of the car to pull them out. They're both going to be fine, hopefully, and the driver is going to have a CT scan done right now. It's been a long night... Desired_speeds was here at the hospital but I'm just glad only a few of us had to see the car lying in it's side on the side of a mountain, held up by a tree.

~Cheers~

It was our Supra crew. Ken only came afterwards when I told everyone to stay off the mountain until we could get my friend out of the car and find out what hospital we were going to. Luckily, though, both guys in the Supra are going to be ok, but the car was flattened. The A-pillars were parallel to the door sills... I didn't get home until 10AM and I just knocked out and woke up now to 19 missed calls on one number, 8 voicemails on the same, and another 6 voicemails on another line. The tow guys are trying to rip my friend off for parts because we overheard them talking about selling pieces on Craigslist...

sounds like a good reason to have recent pics of your car after each mod- to prove it was in what shape, if it gets in ~~ trouble~~
If the body shop/tow guys know its a total, which it is, and the driver was transported after extrication...those are usually fatal scenes........

and lets say they have some rims that will fit- maybe some stock shocks to swap out the Teins SS- that sort of thing
I would not be surprised if they tried to swap them out.

They have experienced many scenes like this-- where the drivers never came to claim to the car--if you get my drift- and the family accepts whatever the insurance pays them on total loss-- - because does your mom know whats on your car and what its worth?
and does she even care after losing you?

while I know that go90 is an experienced driver- for all others:
Be careful with that new rsb- some ziner was playing with the adjustment from race to street settings, and had the back end pass the front on a turn---with predictable results and loss of car---its NOT an airplane folks- please stop trying to fly them! they land horribly!!!

There are brand new Volks on there but they're so bent and cracked that they're scrap now. Two turns before this fateful one, my rear end had slid out, but I was able to correct it by countering only in the general direction of where I wanted to go. I knew that when I straightened, the car'd want to go in the other direction so I didn't counter too much. That knowledge only comes from years of practice sliding a FWD car. That being said, I'm nowhere NEAR as good as some of the semi-Pro drivers.

The tow guys said it IN FRONT of the two guys THEY KNEW were in the car. I swear those fuckers are all scammers and racketeers.

You know I've hit that turn at 90+ before the sway, haha. Anyhow, Albert's car is out AFAIK, and he's considering making it into a hardtop. I'm just happy that the targa held and that he and Mark are ok. I've slowed down after that night, too... No point messing around in traffic.

~Cheers~

You know I've hit that turn at higher speeds before the sway, . Anyhow, Albert's car is out, and he's considering making it into a hardtop. I'm just happy that the targa held and that he and Mark are ok. I've slowed down after that night, too... No point messing around in traffic.

P.S. The thread with photos is now up on SupraForums. Please take the time to read the replies if you're going to head over there. It's in a public section of the forum so everyone should be able to read it. Reading through the posts and thinking about that night really is making me glad that I was able to help my two close friends. If they'd been alone up there, who knows what might've happened, or when they would've been rescued? Our two friends who came back up the mountain didn't even see his car until I told them and lit up the exhaust with my flashlight. Here's the link:

Goodbye 2RBO LAG, we'll miss you

So, after 4 months, here's the pic of the bar installed. It's taken me the same time it took for my new plates to arrive to post this up. Please excuse the dirtiness, I washed the car not long after:

Still riding great! Last night, with my girlfriend screaming in my ear to stop, I ran my brother-in-law in his 03 TL-S from a dig. Spun like mad off the line, giving him a one car head start. Still, I was spinning the whole time going 80% throttle, but slowly passing him, haha. He just got some new Potenzas but he still couldn't pull away. BTW, his dumb ass sold his factory rims for only $220 and didn't tell me about it. Could've had another set of OEM rims to go on my car, haha.

~Cheers~

It's much bigger. I still have the stock one somewhere, and trust me, it's comparing a normal Sharpie to a Magnum44. Also, it's hollow, and I had a friend on mine order it from Tanabe Japan since he could get it shipped here for free (thrown in his container).
