steering loose after 100 mi+ of driving
hi guys,
bought a 2003 tl with 160,000 mi.. Runs great and have had the suspention and steering components looked over by two different shops. New ball joints and bushings are all they found without actually pulling the rack/power steering mech.
Here is what I experience. Day to day driving is GREAT. But when I take a prolonged drive of over 100-150 mi, the steering gets "loose"...what actually seems to happen is it is no longer 'tight' and it feels like when you turn the wheel it has "dead spots" where it feels loose then catches...best I can do to describe it. Once I come home and it sits overnight, it feels nice nd tight again.
Anyone ever experience this before? tires good and just had aligned as well.
