gc and koni for 3.2TL INSTALLED! pics

here's how it looked on sat, front perch is at the very top and is too low, rear can still go down some more, the struts are for the 97 accord as are the koni specific gc sleeves

side view

had to bore out the upper strut mounts to 12mm to fit the fatter koni shock shaft bc the bushings dont come out

wasnt happy with the front so low and the rubbing when making turns so i started again on sun to swap the shorter front sleeves with the longer rear sleeves and vice versa, here is the back, perch all the way at the top, circlip in top groove

does anyone know if this is the central jacking point for the front? i got really tired of jacking up the front by doing each side first, PITA!

interesting angle of the front, perch not adjusted yet, brake brackets dont fit but im putting in ss braided brakelines soon so it doesn't matter, right now the stock brake lines are ziptied to the brake bracket

pass side

done!

side view, front perch is all the way up and the front of the car sits higher than before, rear is a bit lower but that's bc i was too tired to readjust them

externally adjustable

side of the road

parking lot

blurry

Slam it to the max and take a picture...just for me. I have an obsession for slammed cars i.e. air suspension.

You're lucky you're not in my city, you'd see my skeet all over your car...all over.

WOW! That looks great! I'm not a fan of the guages, but everything else is VERY well done! I like your current rims better than the Type-S rims though on that particular car.

Not for long if I get my way... J/K, I'm jealous and honestly have never though about the Lude rims on our cars... Very nicely built, m8.

thanks for the words guys. I have always loved 5th gen prelude, especially slammed on base rims but i saw someone else on this board or the other one with lude rims first. he wasn't dropped but they looked okay. so i photoshoped some prelude rims onto my car and they looked pretty good. then i saw a blue or green jdm 3.2tl on ebay that was dropped on prelude rims and that did it for me. i went kind of crazy and bought two sets of used wheels (8 rims in all). i couldnt resist because they were sooooo cheap. i think i paid $125 for four with tires and then i got four more for $180 w/o tires but they were in much better condition. so i sold the first set and made a tidy profit i really want to throw a set of TL type-s rims on my car and see how they look in person.

they were from a 97 accord, very cheap on ebay...see my earlier post...they have this sticky black tar on the back to hold them in place but i also used tape, the chrome rings are nice and heavy, not cheap plastic if i recall...if you can put indiglo gauges in you can put the chrome rings on...its easy, just be careful when removing the trim, mine almost broke...good luck!

Keep up the good work though man... these TL's are some showstoppers!

the inspire tail were from ebay, $220ish i believe. the pure white look are leds, 168 or 194 sized. they may look white but compared to the HIDs the leds look blue. if i were to do it all over again, i'd go for reg super white bulbs, not leds, the colors clash too much.

What year Accord do the chrome gauge rings come from? I need to replace the D4 light and I might as well do the ring treatment at the same time. That looks like a really nice mod.

teaser - new shoes...

18x8 +48 on 225/40/18 falken ziex

hella flush

hella low - front

even lower - rear
1/2 finger gap right now, i'll drop it more when i add some more neg camber, i NEED to tuck

minor lip

ta-da! yup, rota d2 (aka ssr sp1/work meister hybrid)

3/4 shot, yes i know my car is filthy, i mean really really filthy...

other side

garage shots

last one

i love the blacked out rims with polished lip...the only thing that's changed is that i now have black lug nuts instead of chrome. i think it looks kinda mean without the centercap...

so how does it ride? don't know yet. haven't pushed it because the 225 side tires rubs the slightest bit on the passenger rear. no rubbing on the driver's. might need to adjust the camber on the pass rear to fix the rub...or roll the fenders...

i got a killer deal on these rims with tires from craigslist! immaculate rims except for some minor curb rash on one but for the price i paid, i think i made out like a bandit...let me know what you guys think...

next mods? some more rear suspension goodies and something from japan...but nothing we haven't seen before --> cough*colt45*cough

dialed in the tiniest bit of negative camber and the rubbing is all gone! don't have to roll the fenders now...

now i'm ready for the next bay area meet...who else is going to represent 1st gens? Go90go?
