Hello everyone. Please don't criticize me on this question, but the transmission in my '96 TL is going, and I was wondering if there was a manual trans that I could use to swap into it. If anyone could give me information on what I could use, and what I would need for the swap, it would be really appreciated. Also, I heard that the trans from the Acura Vigor worked, any ideas?

If you search on here Vigor swap, you will find quite a bit of information that some have compiled although I don't think it has ever been done before (at least I haven't seen one).

Any luck finding out if there is a way to put a manual tranny in a 1st Gen 2.5 TL? I'm a complete Noob but I know the Acura CL (2.2. 3.0, 3.2 etc..etc..) came with a manual tranny. Anyone know if there is a way to drop one of these bad boys in a 1stGen TL?

Complete engine and tranny swap. Nothing is impossible! There should be a Honda motor with a manual transmission that will work in the TL. But you have to think your going to have to customize to fit and upgrade almost everything else and its going to be a highly expensive and time consuming project. But if you do it you will have the best TL out there! But your better off just buying an NSX haha

Look for another Honda that has the same motor = Vigor.

The 5 speed with the vigor with bolt up to the 2.5 in the tl. Since they are are essentially the same car. But the vigor had a manual option.
