Will a Hondata tune help me with transmission shift points?
So I lifted my 2007 RDX turbo and installed 2" taller tires.
Now at 60 mph my transmission wants to downshift too easily.
I want it to stay in a lower gear a for a little higher rpms before it shifts into the next gear and then the rpms are too low.
Is there a way to control how and when the transmission shifts?

Put the Transmission in 'S' and use your fingers Actually, no idea as everything I have read says that changing the circumference of the wheel does bad things to the suspension, reducing handling and inaccurate speeds, etc. I have not seen anyone indicate the Hondata tune has changed the shift points of the transmission. But, I am not an expert, only play one on TV.

Are you actually going 60 mph or your speedo is just indicating that speed because of the taller tires? I know my speedo is off by 1-2 mph high compared to side of the road radar speed cams you see sometimes to check your speed (OEM 18" tires).
The $295 Hondata in auto mode just raises the boost level sooner, higher PSI before it slowly tapers off, and longer spool for more hp/tq across the rev band. In Sport mode, it just increases the red line to 7200 rpms. You might have to do what hues10 suggested and drive in sport mode to keep the transmission where you want with the taller tires. Hondata might give you more TQ at 60 mph and the transmission might not downshift?

Hondata dropped the price about 2010 and that was when I did my 08 RDX (+135K on my RDX now). It has been running perfectly since with +100,000 miles with the reflash. It is $295+shipping; I paid for overnight both ways from NM to CA. My RDX was only down from Monday afternoon to Wednesday after lunch.
The positive side effects of the Hondata reflash is you also get a bump in mpgs along with hp/tq. My mpgs improved form 17 mpg combined to 18-18.5 combined (if I keep off the gas). I think the reflash has paid for itself years ago with the gas savings. I don't think you can say that about any mod at that price.

I can't afford the down time for a reflash.
I think I will order the $700.00 flashpro.
Is there any other advantages to the flashpro other than no down time? I'm assuming it can be customized from a dyno speedshop where the reflash cannot.

The standard reflash+overnight shipping is more than half the price of flashpro. You could rent a car to 3 days at Hertz and still come out cheaper compared to flashpro?
I did the Hondata reflash, ETS Intercooler, K/N drop-in filter, and Hondata heatshield gasket. I don't do any towing other than 4 bike rack and Yakima roof cargo box. I do drive +80 mph in high altitude (5000 ft-11,000 ft) and occasional extreme cold weather and those upgrades deliver more power and better mpgs compared to stock.
Even with the engine upgrades, the 5AT can be a pain in the butt because of its wide gearing and unwillingness to downshift or too willing to up-shift auto. I end up using the paddles for short burst or just stay in sport mode to hold the gears longer. The RDX really needed the 6AT or 6/7/8DCT to take advantage of the TQ sweet spot.
