Seafoam Install

Hey Guys,
I just finished doing seafoam on my 3.0 with a friend and thought that I would share a couple of pics of what went down. Basically, we did 1/3 in the PCV valve, 1/3 in the oil, and 1/3 in the gas, then went straight for an oil change afterwards. Anyways, here are a few pics of it all:
The bottle itself. I picked mine up at O'Reilly for about 6 bucks.
This is the tube we used to suck it in. You can see the little 'T' connector we took it off of.
A closeup of the actual 'T' connector.
Now some videos:
Vid One: us sucking it into the car. Always important to do it a bit at a time.
Vid Two: smoke shooting out. Lots of fun here.
All in all, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Within 30 minutes, we had done everything, including an oil change. Hope this has helped all. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to answer them the best I can.

OK, here you go step by step...
1. Park the car in a well-ventilated area.
2. Get a small cup and poor 1/3 of a pint of SeaFoam into it.
3. Disconnect the brake booster vacume line from the bottom of the brake booster.
4. Adapt the hose down to a smaller size... The booster hose is rather large.
5. Start the engine.
6. Slowly suck in a little SeaFoam at a time...Note, your engine malfunction light is going to flash, the ECU gets a bit upset. Your engine is going to smoke, stumble and sputter.
7. Now try to drown the engine. Let it suck in enough to kill the engine. Mine would not die... You may have to shut it off.
8. Let the engine sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Druring this time, reconnect the vacume line to the brake booster.
9. Start the engine and rev it a little... No more than 3500 rpms untill the engine nolonger stumbles. NOTE: the engine may be a little hard to start. Don't fret, just keep cranking. It will start.
10. When the engine is nolonger stumbling, turn it off and reset the ECU. If you don't have access to an analizer, you can disconnect the positive battery terminal for about 30 seconds.
11. Now take 1/3 of a pint of SeaFoam and put it in you crank case. Start the engine and rev it a little... No more than 3500 rpms.
12. Turn it off and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
13. Drain engine oil, remove and replace filter, replace engine oil.
14. Poor the last 1/3 of a pint of Seafoam into 1/2 full tank of gas. Drive around for a couple of mile. Your car will smoke a little.
15. Top off your tank, and you are done.
16. While burning the first tank of fuel, you will notice a smell that is similar to a radiator leak. It is the fumes from the burning SeaFoam in you fuelk system.
that is it. You are done.
Should I suck through the PCV valve or the brake booster vacuum line (or are they the same thing)?

With less carbon build up you should see increased gas mileage and less hesitation

man this sounds good but also risky at the same time. I am not a big fan of putting things into my engine to clean it. aside from Lucas Fuel cleaner or Lucas Powersterring fluid.
Does anyone really suggest this as a must do?

I am doing this today since I have nothing else to do but i have some questions...
1) Do I have to change my oil? If so whats the weight? 5-10w (97, 3.0)
2) Where/ how much is seafoam? Can I get it at like AutoZone or Pep boys?
3) Where/ how do I get into the crank case? (the pictures didnt work)
Thanks guys, sorry for being a noob.

You should be able to get seafoam at autozone of pep boys, I got mine at advanced auto. It's like $7 a can, and you need one canm You should def change your oil after running seafoam through it

There is also something called "Honda Top-End Engine Cleaner" that you can get from your Honda or Acura dealer. It is essentially the same system as seafoam, except you do not put any in your fuel tank. Should cost around $6 to 8 bucks. The instructions tell you to feed it through the brake booster line slowly as well. I built a feeder from vinyl tubing and a lil valve in the middle from Home Depot. It allowed me to control the amount of cleaner that was being sucked in so I wouldn't keep stalling the engine. (the Honda instructions say to avoid stalling)
I used the Honda Cleaner and noticed an increase in fuel mileage and the car is a lil peppier, so I would highly recommend it. There was a ton of smoke at first, and the engine sounded horrible. Once the can was near empty, there had been definite improvement.
If you are concerned about Cat Converter damage or whatever, don't be. The cat is usually damaged by allowing unburned fuel to enter it, burn up and overheat/melt the cataylist over a long period of time.
Doing this once every so often will have no effect on your converter.

I used the GM combustion chamber cleaner fed through the PCV line before last oil change and that created a lot of smoke. My blowby is so bad that I always get oil drawn into the intake manifold. Does the Seafoam or like products clean the air intake and all the sensors in there as well as the combustion chamber? Is it likely that these products are removing the oil that keep collecting in the manifold?

Thinking about doing it to my car, but I know nothing of what to do (Aside the fact some info is up there) I wanna seafoam the car cause I'm getting crappy MPG (Don't know if thats what fixes it, but my car kills a full tank in less than 4 days.)
Only thing I'm most cautious about is having the check engine light come on. If it does, I'm screwed. LOL. Mind helping a noob out?

As for the CEL coming on, just disconnect the positive battery cable as stated before or pull a few select fuses (read the noob guide).

Like where everything I'm suppose to put the stuff in and what not. Like...when you put everything in, is there a specific time I'm suppose to wait for the fluids to go through and seep in or just turn on the car and see that stuff come out and what not? Just kinda lost...sorry for sounding like a noob.

Ghettoninja has a nice picture up a few posts of where you can put it. Warm your car up to operating temperature. Pour 1/3 of a can very slowly into a funnel and through the tube he circled because you don't want to stall it and some people worry about hydrolock. Once you're done pouring it through the vacuum system turn the car off, or pour enough in to stall it, I prefer just turning it off. As for waiting, some people say 5-10 minutes and others say 30 minutes. Your choice, just wait some time. Put another 1/3 of a can in a half full tank of gas while you're waiting. Go for a drive. WOT once or twice if you can.
The check engine light will come on so don't panic. I told you read the noob guide not because you're a noob but because it tells you which fuse to pull to clear it and I couldn't remember. So don't apologize.
You could disconnect the battery to reset the CEL since the ECU will probably be confused as hell from the seafoam anyway.

So I did with Nate (switchfootvz) Today. I guess it works...but not alot of White smoke came out. My guess was just that I had too much gas in the tank when we put the seafoam in the gas tank. Question in mind: is it bad to leave seafoam in the gas tank?
