Dealer stole my original tires for 2013 Acura MDX Tech package.

I purchased the 2013 Acura MDX Technology last year. The car's ride quality has been bad and suspension is bumpy. Finally today I took the car to a Acura dealer (different dealer where I purchased it from) for inspection. To my surprise, the service manager said one of reasons could be the tires. He said 2013 Acura MDX Technology package comes with the Michelin Latitude P255/55R18 103H all-season; however, the car has Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400 P255/55R18 104H all-season tires which are supposed to be on base MDX model. I confirmed 2013 Acura MDX specifications at Honda website. 2013 Acura MDX Specifications - Honda.com

What should I do? I am really upset.

What do your records say you purchased? I'm sure it is listed somewhere... maybe on that big window sign that has all the specifications...

Go back to your dealing and raise a fit.

Tirerack reviews on the Dueler H/L 400 are not too bad on balance. But the Mich Lats are probably one of the best tires out there - just expensive. I will replace in a few months since mine are hitting 40K soon and I will probably get Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422

I took a look of the sticker and didn't specify the tire brand but just the size.

I researched the 2013 mdx tech model in autotrader website. Some postings will post pictures of the tires and they all are Michelin tires.

If I were you I would go to the acura dealer with the info you have from the other dealer and make your claim. Id ask to speak to the sales manager, not whoever sold you the car, and try to claim you know the car comes with specific tires and what you have dont belong on that trim level.
Maybe go on their website and see what that car is listen as.

I have no idea on the politics and the dealer may be able to say "we never specified youd get the better tires and signed off on those. sorry."

Truly I have no idea. Im just telling you the course of action I would take.

Check your leather owner manual book, it will have the tire manufacturer warranty pamphlet. Mine has the Michelin card and came with the Latitude.

When researching the 13 MDX, I remember reading somewhere that Acura switched tires at one time or something like that. I tried searching for where I read that and I can only find this old thread from another forum:

Mid Year Tire supplier change - Acura MDX Forum : Acura MDX SUV Forums

So, when I bought our 13 MDX Tech/Ent, I actually checked to make sure that Michelins were on there. I remember checking other Tech and Tech/Ent models on the lot and some had Bridgestones and some had Michelins. My salesperson said that Acura must have switched at some point. I really didn't ask why after that since I was getting the Michelins anyway.

Unless the dealership switches from a H-rated all-season tire to a lesser-speed-rated (such as S-rated) all-season tire, otherwise it is hard to fault the dealership if both sets of tires are of the same specs, but simply different makes and models.

I believe he purchased the trim that included tire A. When taking the vehicle in to get the tires A replaced at an alternate location they informed him he did not have A and instead had B. B, coming on a lower value trim level.

Making one think the dealer sold vehicle advertised by maker to have A but replaced A with lower value B for profit.

We bought our 2013 MDX new but at the end of the production run of that body style.

All the 2013 MDXs with Technology on the lot at that time had the Bridgestone Dueler tires. I would have preferred the Michelin's but the Bridgestone's have been fine.

I think your service manager is mistaken as Bridgestone Duelers did come standard on new 2013 MDXs with Technology.

My .02 is the tires are not your problem. Maybe the Bridgestone don't score as well as the Michelins but they are still great tires. Don't let the mechanic distract you from the real problem with your MDX.
