Cargo Area Protection
Hi guys. I wanted to get a Cargo mat for my MDX.
I have narrowed it down to the OEM one wiht the HINGE, part number (08U45-STX-200A), and the Maxpider Kagu mat. I would love to get weathertech but to my understanding there is no hinge(in case you use back row) and we use the back row sometimes. Any other options you guys have experience with ? Does anyone have the Maxpider ? Its a little cheaper than the OEM and seems to have a nice little lip like the Weathertech.

I have the OEM cargo mat with the hinge feature. That came in handy a few times when I needed the 3rd row in a pinch (like taking drunk co-workers home after holiday party). Without the hinge feature, I don't know how you can use the 3rd row without having to remove the cargo mat?
I also purchased a 6X8 foot poly tarp that folds very flat and I hide it under the cargo mat. Used it a few times when I had to make a Home Depot run for bricks, planter soil, and other yard supplies and I had to put stuff on the folded back seat. I also did a universal fit cargo net for Costco and grocery runs to keep stuff from rolling around.
I have both OEM cargo net and universal cargo net:

I have the cargo liner... works nicely for hauling and not worry about random grass or leaves or grit getting stuck in the carpet. Also nice as a barrier for wet gear. Access to 3rd row would require a partial break down of the liner though.

I wound up purchasing the MaxPyder one. Looks like its on par with the Weathertech (has a nice lip for spills) with the ability to fold when you use the 3rd row (it has a hinge like the OEM one) Plus it looks damn cool ! I will post review once I get it. Here's a peek..

Hey guys. I got the Maxpider Kagu mat I mentioned above. Highly recommend, really nice material, no slippage whatsoever. Meatier than the stock cargo mats. No smell whatsoever. I will get the same for my TL if they make it. Pretty impressive.

I've never heard of this brand before. I wish I've had when I purchased my all weather mats for my MDX last year. The only thing I don't like about the driver's Maxpider Kagu all weather mat is it covers the dead pedal. I installed racing pedals (gas, brake, emergency brake, dead pedal) and the mat would cover the dead pedal a little bit like weathertech mats. That was the main reason why I went with OEM mats for the front seats (OEM middle seat to stay consistent, weathertech 3rd row because no OEM 3rd row available, OEM cargo).

But specifically for the Cargo area, I like the Maxpider over the OEM(flimsy in comparison) AND the Weathertech because the Weathertech does not fold when the 3rd row goes up.
