hey guys, so i just changed my signal bulbs to some led ones. The point was i was trying to location the turn signal flasher so i could change it to the led resister kit to avoid the hyperflash but i couldnt find it. Do you guys happen to know where it is?

Man do not complicate it, Just get the Inline Resistors from Autozone and that´s it! I did both of my rear Turn Signal Lights with some Philips LEDs and I got the hyper flash.. Added the Resistors and problem solved!
I haven´t found suitable Yellow LEDs for the Front Turn Signals so I kept those stock.

i wanted to use the resistors too but i just wasnt sure which one is positive wire and which one is ground. Also i wasnt sure if the resistors have positive and ground wires too. You can give me some advices, i prefer the easier way. Also i changed my HID bulbs just like you told me and it worked great. Thanks for that. Merry christmas.

This way is more efficient, and it is much safer compared to inline resistors(No Heat).

Efficient? blinkers only come up so often that changing them to LEDs is not because of Energy Savings but because of the Quick On/Off dynamic.. My Philips LEDs on the rears even with the Resistors have this and they illuminate way more than the stock halogen light and its a Bright Intense RED not the washed out Halogen + Red Screen combo.

To OP you can known the polarity with a small Volt/Meter I cannot remember which wire is what but it doesn't really matter as the Resistor is just a Load for the Relay.. It wont make a difference if the polarity is reversed.

LED flasher > in line resistors, resistors heat up and depending where they are mounted, it can be problematic.


The flasher is definitely is the right course of action.

The resistor is exactly behind the Tail Light.. I can go check it if you want but I haven´t had a problem on my 6 year old resistors on my TL.

when I will get TL, I will do little DIY how to convert Oem flasher to LED compatible one... Because IT IS A RIGHT WAY....
Skirmich, you know what sucks.. when cheap Chinese LED loses contact or just fails and you're using LED resistor there will be no warning... With proper LED flasher you'll get hyper-flash.

Soooooo In order to remove the Inline Load Resistors I have to add a Resistor into the Relay?
Yeahhh that is no way in hell easier than adding Inline Load Resistors, Since mine has been working so well all these years and there is no plug and play option Id stick with the good old fashioned Inline Load Resistors.

I thought you guys were recommending the Relay Option because it was an Easy Plug and Play ready to fit in LED Relay...
Hacking into the OEM Relay and Soldering is not DIYer friendly at all..

I went on quickly to see how the Inline Resistor has been holding with +8 months of use and its fine.. The ceramic doesn´t look cracked or feel brittle to the touch, No melted parts not even the tape, and the rear of the tailgate is immaculate aside from the Dirt of course. Its still blinking fine.

This particular characteristic of the MDX has me scratching my head at Honda. They made almost the whole tail light out of LED's, yet they choose to make the turn signal halogen rather than have the led's flash?

Funny thing... Even the 2017 still uses Halogen for Rear Turn Signals.

Wow really? In this day and age where some cars are literally using nothing but LED lights for EVERYTHING, you would expect Honda to have the common sense to stop using halogens and implement the LED's that are already there. Man just shaking my head here.
